I know how difficult it is for smaller businesses to thrive in today's economy--an economy built by and for the billionaires and their mega corporations. As an individual who has seen $100,000 medical bills, I can attest to how broken and greed-driven our medical system truly is. I know what a utility disconnect notice looks like, what a past-due charge means, and how scary an overdraft can feel. For too many of us, this isn't working. So, let's change it! <h4>We can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results.</h4>Many politicians today are using the same, tired playbook---Republicans and Democrats alike. We need change, not just in our country but also in politics. It is time for Democrats and Republicans to get money out of politics by universally rejecting corporate PAC and special-interest money. And it is far past time for the government to stop subsidizing the toxic relationship between Congress and corporations, and start taking care of the American people. Our government should serving Americans, not foreign investors and shareholders. I believe that our taxes are best spent on defense, roads, schools, bridges, elder care, medicine, and food. Americans do not believe that our taxes should be used as corporate handouts for the wealthy and the powerful---and I agree. Enough is Enough.

Erik grew up believing that a man's word is his bond. 90 years ago, this country made a promise to all Americans: work hard, pay into our system, contribute to society, and we will NOT let you fall into poverty in your golden years. We promised each other not only to protect the elderly from poverty, but to give them a sense of dignity in their final years. 50 years ago, we added to that pledge by creating Medicaid so that the needy and aging would have access to quality healthcare. Today, however, the MAGA-rebranded Republican party has broken that promise. Our Representative, Josh Brecheen, has voted to cut Medicaid--- a decision that will have life-and-death consequences for the individuals who will no longer have coverage. And why did he do this? What could possibly be as important as saving American lives? Tax breaks for the wealthy. He voted to take away life-saving medical care so that our Treasury can write checks to the rich. This is unacceptable.When elected to Congress, Erik will fight not just to preserve the benefits that you worked your entire life to enjoy, but he will work to expand them! When our society made that promise, it was understood that Social Security would provide more than just an income---it would provide dignity. Unfortunately, that is something it isn't doing today. We need to ensure that payments to seniors provide enough to cover all living expenses. No American should have to choose between food and medicine, rent or gas, utilities or insurance. It is a shameful reality that we must face and fix now.

The United States is the only major nation in the world that does not guarantee healthcare for everyone, yet we spend more per capita and have worse outcomes than any of those other countries. Some say that our system is broken, but the sad reality is that our healthcare system in this country is working exactly as intended. The system we have has been meticulously crafted by legions of industry lobbyists and Washington insiders. The system they have created prioritizes profit over patient, leaving millions of Americans saddled with unimaginable medical debt---all so that CEOs and shareholders can add extra zeroes to their ever-increasing bank accounts.We deserve a healthcare system that is patient-centered and wellness-focused, not investor-led and greed-driven. Bartlesville, OK – January 3, 2026This morning's military strikes on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro represent a dangerous overreach of executive power and a clear violation of both our Constitution and international law. I am compelled to speak out against what appears to be an illegal act of aggression that will diminish America's standing in the world and set a troubling precedent for how we conduct foreign policy.Let's be clear about what happened here. Without a declaration of war from Congress and without authorization for the use of military force, the President ordered strikes on a sovereign nation and orchestrated what amounts to a kidnapping of a head of state. No matter what we think of Maduro's regime—and there is much to criticize—this is not how a nation governed by the rule of law conducts itself.The administration claims this is about stopping drug trafficking, but we need to look honestly at the facts. Venezuela produces virtually no fentanyl. The Trump administration has provided no credible evidence linking the boats they've destroyed to actual drug operations. Meanwhile, the President and his advisors have been remarkably candid about their real interest: Venezuela's oil. Stephen Miller said it out loud—that Venezuela's oil "belongs" to the United States. The President himself has demanded Venezuela return "all of the oil, land, and other assets" to America.This isn't about protecting Americans from drugs. This is about seizing control of the world's largest proven oil reserves through military force.That should trouble every American who believes in the principles this country was founded on. We don't invade other countries to take their resources. We don't bypass Congress when committing acts of war. And we don't shred international law whenever it's inconvenient. The Constitution gives Congress—not the President alone—the power to declare war for good reason. Our founders understood the dangers of unchecked executive power, particularly when it comes to military action.When I'm elected to Congress, I will fight to restore constitutional order and accountability. Every American deserves quality public schools, and an educated public benefits us all. Erik is a proud product of our public education system. The education that he received in the Bartlesville Public School system was second to none. Every student in our district deserves to have access to that same, high-quality learning. Education is a human right, and Erik will fight every day to protect it.Public education is a service that is provided to a population, and as such, it should not be run in a for-profit manner. Public funds poured into for-profit schools increase the wealth of investors with no accountability to the public for actual outcomes. Erik is completely against vouchers in any form. Yes, we MUST address the issues plaguing our public education system, but the solution is not to take even MORE money away from cash-strapped public schools and divert it into wealthy private institutions. It is cruel, immoral, and un-democratic.Student debt and college affordability is becoming an economic crisis that we must solve now. High costs are harming everyday Americans, from groceries and healthcare to housing and childcare. Millions of people are getting by paycheck to paycheck. One in five children in Oklahoma is living in poverty.We need solutions that will work for every American, not just the very richest among us.We live in a wonderfully rich and bountiful country---and an economy that powers the economic engine of the world. There is no reason why any American should be sitting on the sidelines or underemployed. Every able-bodied American has the right to work for a wage that does more than help them merely survive. And if Americans can't find those jobs, they should be able to go to work for their country--- repairing roads, building bridges, updating schools, and re-establishing rural hospitals. Housing has become unaffordable for many, causing some families to spend over 50% of their income on rent. That leaves very little for utilities, and virtually nothing for emergencies, school costs, sports, and so much more. It's a common story that unfortunately is being experienced by more and more Oklahomans.But we can stop it.We must end the practice of allowing investment firms to buy up entire swaths of neighborhoods and cities. We must end the ability of a handful of individuals to drive up the cost of home ownership and pricing out the middle class. We must work with landlords and property owners to find humane and fair practices for resolving rental disputes. And we must work to build many more affordable housing units across the country over the next decade. Together, we can work to eliminate homelessness and raise the level of home ownership in our state and country.
