Every American should have the right to high-quality, accessible medical care. The United States is the only major nation in the world that does not guarantee healthcare for everyone, yet we spend more per capita and have worse outcomes than any of those other countries. Some say that our system is broken, but the sad reality is that our healthcare system in this country is working exactly as intended. The system we have has been meticulously crafted by legions of industry lobbyists and Washington insiders. The system they have created prioritizes profit over patient, leaving millions of Americans saddled with unimaginable medical debt---all so that CEOs and shareholders can add extra zeroes to their ever-increasing bank accounts.

We deserve a healthcare system that is patient-centered and wellness-focused, not investor-led and greed-driven. We must get money and profit out of medicine---and that includes pharmaceuticals!

We have seen the devastating impacts that for-profit Big Pharma has had in just the last 40 years. It is time for us to stand up as a nation to these industries and reaffirm our right to structure our healthcare to serve the people---not the billionaires. It is time for us to wrest control of healthcare from the CEOs and present-day robber barons, and return medicine to the hands of caregivers and researchers.
